VMware: LSU Overview

General Information
The VMware Academic Program (VMAP) is a comprehensive usage program designed specifically for the academic community. In addition to free licenses for instruction and research, VMware also provides academic institutions and affiliated organizations special discounts on VMware software and support when deployed as a part of their IT infrastructure.
Note that as of May 8, 2022, all VMWare software is no longer available via OnTheHub, and will need to be requested on an individual basis.
VMware includes licenses for the following products:
- Fusion
- Workstation
- Server
Pre-Installation Notes
Faculty and Staff:
Faculty and staff can use VMware software under specific program usage guidelines free of charge for academic research and classroom instruction.
To download VMware, please request it from software@lsu.edu.
Students:
Students can install this software on their personal computers as part of their coursework or research projects.
