General Information
Wine is a compatibility layer for Mac, Linux, BSD and any other POSIX OS that automatically translates Windows API calls into POSIX calls, allowing the user to run Windows applications on their operating system. In this way, it allows the Windows applications to run seamlessly and fast, unlike how they would run within an emulator.
Pre-Installation Instructions
System Requirements: Mac OS X, Linux, BSD, or another UNIX operating system.
- Note: You must have native drivers installed for your system that are equivalent to Windows' drivers for Wine to run Windows applications well (or at all in some cases).
