Moodle: Profile and Preferences


Moodle Profile

Your Moodle profile allows you to update your picture and add additional information about yourself, such as your interests and hobbies. Access your profile through the My Courses link at the top of any Moodle page once you log in.

  • Along the top of the screen, you can choose to close the window to return to the previous screen, access your profile, My Home (the Moodle homepage), Preferences, Grades or Log out. Click on the Profile link.

  • A page with several areas will load, including your User details, courses in which you are enrolled, and links to various reports and notifications. Click on Edit profile under User details to edit your profile.

    • In this menu, you can upload a new profile picture (see Moodle: Edit User picture) and add some details about yourself, such as your interests, social media information, and your email display options (who can see your email address).

 

Preferences

The Preferences page gives users quick access to various settings they might wish to edit. It can be accessed directly from the My Courses link. For information on specific preferences, visit the linked articles from Moodle Docs. These links will open in a new window.

  • Forum Preferences - change your notifications to a daily digest, set tracking, and auto-subscription settings
  • Editor Preferences - the default (and recommended) editor is the Atto editor
     

Support & Training

The FTC also provides just-in-time faculty training opportunities and recorded training sessions. Attending at least one training session for Moodle upgrades is highly recommended.
