VLab 2.0: General Desktop

The General Desktop gives users access to the following programs:

Miscellaneous Software:

  • Cygwin, EndNote, FreeMat, JMP Pro 12, Maple 2016, MATLAB R2016a, SAS 9.4 with Enterprise Guide, SALT 2012, SPSS Statistics 24, SPSS Amos 24, Wolfram Mathematica 10.4.

Basic Software:

  • Microsoft Office 2016, Windows Accessories, Symantec Endpoint Protection, VMware, XPS Viewer, Ease of Access.

Extra Software:

  • Acrobat Reader DC, Notepad++, VideoLAN, Python 2.7.6, Python 3.4, Visual Studio 2015, Microsoft Expression, NetBeans 8.1

Media Players: 

  • Windows Media Player, VLC Media Player.

Web Browsers:

  • Chrome, Internet Explorer.
     

To Access the General Desktop in VLab 2.0:

1. Open VLab.

2. Login to the LSU Server (for help, use the Grok Article: VLab 2.0: Starting a Session in Windows).

3. Double click General Desktop to login.

4. Select General Desktop from the list.
