Fusion 360: Import Files

  

To import a file, first you must export a file or already possess one. If you already have an exported file, skip down to the To Import A File section.

Exporting a File:

1. Click File located in the top left-hand corner of the screen, and select Export from the dropdown menu.

2. A new window should open up. Name the Export in the space provided. Then click the ellipsis located in the bottom right-hand corner of the window.

3. This will bring up the file explorer. Select the desired area to export the file to and click Select Folder.

4. When finished, select Save in the bottom right-hand corner of the dialog box.

 

To Import a File:

1. Click File located in the top left-hand corner of the screen, and select New Design by File from the dropdown menu.

2. A window should open with your folders. Select the desired file and click Open. (Note: All files supported include Fusion archive files and some of the most common CAD neutral file types.)

Choose desired file and click Open at bottom right


3. After the import is complete, you can save the file by clicking the floppy disk icon labeled Save. A name and description blank are provided. The description blank is not needed, but can help with organization. Select Save when finished.
